Where SA Learners Build Tomorrow with Today’s Tools!
Welcome to the Cosmic Robotics Lab!
What began as a spark of ingenuity among Naledi learners has ignited into a cosmic beacon for robotics in general. With just two robots—an Arduino car and a micro:bit bot—our students learn coding basics via free block coding tools, testing their ideas on shared machines. In a country where resources are scarce and the economy is strained, teachers are stretched thin, often relying on paper models to teach robotics. This lab evolved when educators connected here, seeking structure and collaboration. Now, it’s a launchpad where beginners from Grade 4 to 9 dream up machines, share wisdom, and build a future—together!
How the Cosmic Lab Works
New here? Here’s your star map to this hub—built for SA’s robotics pioneers!
Watch the Missions: See our shared bots in action below—each video shows a learner’s code come to life!
Build Your Bot: Design a virtual bot and imagine its mission, even with limited gear.
Learn & Share: Explore facts, resources, and the Comm Hub to connect and grow.
Join Us: Submit your robot (or paper model!) or post in the Comm Hub—every idea counts!
Robotics Roadmap
A cosmic guide for SA teachers and learners—starting small, aiming big!
Our Reality: With just an Arduino car and micro:bit bot, we maximize free tools like Micro:bit’s simulator. Paper models stretch our resources further!
Grade 4 Beginners:
Focus: Basic movement (forward, turn), simple sensors (light, sound).
Challenges: “Make the bot beep when it sees light!”—use block coding.
